Koala Carbon Credits held a Tree Day Event at the Western Sydney International Dragway, Eastern Creek. Irene Llewellyn, General Manager of Sandoz Pty Ltd in Pyrmont came out with her staff to enjoy the great outdoors, and be a part of this wonderful program by helping plant native trees. The planting will go towards improving soil fertility, reduce wind and noise levels and most importantly provide food for our koalas in the future.

After signing in we explained what Koala Carbon Credits is about and how it relates to Koala Retreat. Once the introductions were completed we got stuck into planting the native trees. Everybody enjoyed the work and on this particular day it was noticeably cold so everybody kept moving about to keep warm.

We planted more trees than expected and came close to planting 350 trees, with the last 150 trees having to start from scratch by drilling the holes and pulling weeds out first which by then everybody had divided up into smaller groups to work in teams.

We swap the teams around, but after lunch everybody settled into the job they felt most comfortable. We went on a brief tour of the Eastern Creek facilities at the Dragway and learning the history and over all everybody enjoyed themselves and were happy to contribute towards the environment and our Koalas.
